clean air matters
Please join Clive Doucet for an event to raise awareness of air quality issues in Ottawa and learn more about this important topic from Dr. Tom Kovesi and the NFB film, Radiant City. Date: Sunday, April 6, 2008 Guest speaker: Dr. Tom Kovesi, Since 1992, he has practised as a pediatric respirologist at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa Medical School. He was Chief of Pediatric Respirology at CHEO 1992-2006, and co-director of the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic. Dr. Kovesi has received the Award of Merit from the Ottawa-Carleton Lung Association and a Teaching Award from CHEO. He is Chair of the Pediatric Assembly of the Canadian Thoracic Society, a senior member of the Canadian Consensus Guidelines Committee on Asthma and the International Consensus Guidelines Committee on the Respiratory Care of Children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He is a vocal member of Physicians for a Smoke-Free Canada. Dr. Kovesi has published over 20 articles in medical journals. His main research area is the effect of indoor air quality on the respiratory health of Inuit infants in Nunavut. Featured film: Radiant
