Successes

Transit - The New Semester Pass
The arrival of the O-Train and the many bus routes that service the campus are important to the over 25,000 students and staff. Starting in September of 2005 Carleton students will be able to purchase a Semester Pass. This new single pass will last from September to December and January to April. Gone is the inconvenience of renewing monthly passes. This has been a project spearheaded by Residence Association with the help and assistance of our office.

Safety
There is still work to be done here. Almost every year a serious pedestrian accident occurs

Challenges Ahead

On Bronson opposite the campus. We continue to push staff to authorize a Bronson Avenue Safety Audit from the Rideau river to the canal. Students living off campus need to be assured of that crossing Bronson is not a life threatening adventure.

Other safety issues still to be resolved include a safe crossing of Colonel By Drive at the Hartwell Locks. Many students find it convenient to walk to transit routes on Prince of Wales Drive or drive bikes through the farm, to Fisher Heights and other communities to the west.

To the east I am asking for a stop sign at Seneca and Cameron to make the bike corridor that runs opposite to the one-way traffic on Cameron safer.
